You, YES YOU, I have a couple questions if you don’t mind!
For those of you out there that go to their local hobby/gaming stores I have a couple questions for you! We all look for different things in a hobby store and I wanted to know what you guys out there in the tumblrverse look for.
I know I personally love it if a place has a a variety of mini games they have on display or product out for, just so I can see what else is up there, often times I’ll see something I didn’t know existed but looks really cool and play a demo game or pick up a starter if it looks really cool, on that note I’m also a sucker for demo tables. A knowledgeable staff is also a must for me, I really hate asking someone how something plays and getting a “uhhhh, I don’t know” response, I don’t expect the whole staff to have intimate knowledge of every game but at least being able to say “It plays like BANG!” or “It’s like they took everything bad out of 3.5 and then refined the classes” is nice you know? Regular events are what have me going to my local gaming store, things like Friday Night Magic are awesome because I know if I don’t make it one night I can always come out next Friday and get a game in.
So how about you guys? What keeps you coming back to your local store and why did you go there in the first place? Or if you prefer, why -DON’T- you go to your local gaming store?
